A. wash 500 cars for $20 each. Washing 10 each Sat and Sun for 3 months = $10,000. Offer detail service for $40 and it cuts down the time. Ask for additional donations/tips for the cause and it can be done even faster, as can washing more cars. That's sad how many people think you can only make a lot of money by selling drugs. If you're not lazy there are many ways you can think of that are ligit.

How do you calculate training zones based on heart rate?
Q. I have read several approaches to calculating heart rate training zones. Approach 1: Based on HR-Max I'm 29, so, my HR-MAX=191 60-70% would be 115-134bpm Approach 2: Based on HR-Working ( HR-Working = HR-Max HR-Resting To find bpm, take the desired training rate (ie. 60%) * HR-Working and add your HR-Resting I'm 29, so my HR-Working is 191-55=136 60-70% would be (0.6*136)+55=137 to (0.7*136)+55=150bpm This makes a considerable difference! 60-70% Based on HR-Max: 115-134bpm 60-70% Based on HR-Working:137-150bpm Polar seems to use the HR-Working approach ( Which is correct..or best?

A. I agree with the previous poster regarding the Sally Edwards book. She does a good job explaining how to use HRM's and set up a training program. Calculated training zones, especially when you base them on generic numbers, aren't terribly useful. Your max heart rate probably isn't 191. That's just an average 'rule of thumb' number based on 220 minus your age. You could be higher, or lower. Every individual is different. You are born with a certain max heart rate that has nothing whatever to do with fitness level. Yes, maximum heart rate does decrease gradually with age. The best way to find your actual max is during a medically supervised stress test. Failing that, you can probably find it yourself on a treadmill by… [cont.]
